- Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited’s (MPNU) Apprentice Training Program (ATP) 2023 is a foundation level training program for young Nigerians interested in the oil and gas industry. The program, lasting approximately 23 months, includes both classroom learning and practical experience. Upon completion, participants receive an MPNU “Certificate of Completion” in their specific field of study. Applicants must be Nigerian with a National Diploma (ND) in certain disciplines. Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited (MPNU), an affiliate of ExxonMobil Corporation, is pleased to announce its Apprentice Training Program (ATP) for 2023. This program is an entry-level training initiative aimed at young Nigerians who have aspirations to become Operations and Maintenance Technicians in the oil and gas or related industries.

About the MPNU ATP
MPNU ATP is a long-standing initiative, which has been operational since 1995, aimed at equipping young Nigerians with essential knowledge and skills. As an operator of the Joint Venture with the Federal Government of Nigeria through the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), MPNU has been instrumental in shaping the oil and gas industry’s future workforce.
The ATP will span approximately 23 months and will take place at the MPNU Technical Training Center (TTC) in Eket, Akwa Ibom State. The program offers a blend of classroom instruction and hands-on practical experience, including opportunities for on-the-job attachments at operational facilities.
Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be awarded an MPNU “Certificate of Completion” in their specific area of study – be it Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Process Operations.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the MPNU ATP, prospective candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Applicants must be Nigerian citizens.
- Applicants must possess a government-issued identity card (Voters Card, National ID, Valid Driver’s License, International Passport).
- Candidates must hold a National Diploma (ND) in any of the following disciplines:
- Chemical Engineering Technology
- Electrical / Electronic Engineering Technology
- Mechanical Engineering Technology
- Petroleum Engineering Technology
- Graduation must have occurred with a minimum of Lower Credit and should not be earlier than 2019.
