Programme Overview: The Essence of Pre-NCE

What is Pre-NCE?

The Pre-NCE is an intensive one-year course designed to prepare students with four-credit entry qualifications for seamless transition into the full-time National Certificate in Education (NCE) programme. During their time in the Pre-NCE programme, students are required to sit for and score a minimum of 100 marks in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), in order to qualify for entry into the first year of the NCE programme, commonly referred to as NCE I.

Who is Eligible?

Candidates aspiring to enrol in the Pre-NCE programme must satisfy at least one of the following conditions:

  1. Relevance to Chosen Course: Candidates must meet admission prerequisites relevant to the course they intend to undertake, as outlined in the full-time NCE programme.
  2. Grade II Teacher’s Certificate: Candidates possessing a Grade II Teacher’s Certificate with passes in all subjects, and a minimum of five years post-qualification experience, are also eligible. Additionally, any other qualifications sanctioned by the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) are considered acceptable for admission into this programme.

How to Submit Your Application

Candidates keen to register for the Pre-NCE programme should first remit a non-refundable application fee of N4,000.00 via a bank transaction through the Bursary Office. After completing the transaction, candidates must then proceed to the Degree Unit, bearing the blue receipt as proof of payment, to obtain the admission form.

All filled-out admission forms must be returned to the Office of the Deputy Registrar (Admissions) at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba, prior to the commencement of the matriculation ceremony for the 2023/2024 academic session.
