A Brief Overview of EKSU: From Inception to Today

Established originally as Obafemi Awolowo University in Ado-Ekiti on 30th March 1982, EKSU has a rich history. The institution was inaugurated by the late Chief Michael Adekunle Ajasin, the first civilian governor of Ondo State. The university has evolved remarkably over the years. General Cut-Off Criteria

The management of EKSU has declared that candidates who opted for EKSU during their UTME registration and scored 140 and above in the last UTME are eligible for Post UTME screening. Scoring below this benchmark disqualifies candidates from participating in the EKSU Post UTME exercise.

Course-Specific Cut-Off Marks

For candidates interested in high-demand courses such as Nursing, Law, and Medicine (MBBS), the university has set specific cut-off marks. These are as follows:

  • Nursing: 220
  • Law: 240
  • Medicine (MBBS): 250

Candidates scoring below these cut-off marks in these specific courses have the option to apply for Post UTME screening for other courses. It is crucial to update this change on the JAMB CAPS portal to be considered for admission.

Alternative Admission Routes

In addition to the traditional UTME route, EKSU also accepts JUPEB scores with a minimum of 7 points for admission. However, please note that the university does not accept IJMB scores.

Conclusion

EKSU’s announcement of its cut-off marks serves as a vital guideline for all prospective students aiming for admission in the 2023/2024 academic session. These cut-off criteria have been carefully set to ensure that the university maintains its high standards of academic excellence.
