what is National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)
The NYSC is a medium through which the Nigerian youths (tertiary institution leavers) pay respect to the country. Just like a person owes some duties to those around him, he also owes the country a duty to serve and pay his respect flag. He has to contribute his quota to the development of the country. Hence, the need for NYSC.
For this reason, every graduate is expected to pay his quota the country after his degree programme through NYSC.

Is NYSC Compulsory?
No, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is not compulsory but it is necessary in order to be accepted in some parastatals especially when looking for a job.
NYSC is important to both nation at large and to the youths because it shows that you have made your contribution to the development of the country.
While your contribution continues indirectly as you live your life, a whole year is dedicated to serve the country and to make major contributions.
From the above stated points, it means that failure to go for NYSC is a limitation to an extent as you may not work in some public institutions.

Do JPTS Students Go For NYSC?
Yes, the students of the Joint Professionals Training and Support International Limited (JPTS) also go for NYSC after their degree program in the University. This is to show their loyalty to respect to the nation. Over the years, JPTS institute has sent over 5,000 students to the NYSC camp and up till date, they are still sending so many there.
Just like other regular universities in Nigeria, the JPTS international sends her students to go for NYSC every year. However, it is not compulsory.
